Labyrinth by Kate Mosse
I haven't decided what to make of this novel yet, although following hard on the heels of The DaVinci Code, and also espousing another grail legend, I am not expecting the earth.
Bee Season by Myla Goldberg
Literally two days after I picked this book randomly from the shelf of a bookshop in the Chicago O'hare airport, the movie was announced. Glad I got the cover without Richard Gere's mug on the front.

Dance, Dance, Dance by Haruki Murakami
I have to say that I admired Murakami's simple and often wryly ironic style. He likes to surprise his reader in the middle of a sentance, however, with something wholly unbelievable, which often made it necessary for me to go back a few pages to make sure I was getting the gist of it. All in all, an enjoyable read.
Enna Burning by Claire Dunkel
By the author of The Goose Girl, the story follows one of the characters from the first book into a new adventure. Not entirely as enjoyable as the first of the series, but entertaining nonetheless.
Mirror, Mirror by Gregory McGuire
Ever since reading Wicked in college, I've been hooked on McGuire's fairy tale retellings. (Although Lost was a bit of bust in my opinion.) It is hard to compare any other of his writings with "Wicked" to be honest, and this is no exception. I enjoyed how McGuire played with themes of heaven, hell and goodness, but it still couldn't hold a candle to his first work.
The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde
Another book that sprouted from Fforde's brilliant Thursday Next series. A cute premise, (A division of the police force that investigates crimes committed by nursery rhyme characters) although not nearly as engaging as Fforde's others.
Ptolemy's Gate by Jonathan Stroud
The final installment of the Bartimaeus trilogy; an interesting twist on the "magician" theme; magicians as the ruling class, relying on demons from "The Other Place" for their power, oppressing non-magic users and demons alike. A better read than the first two with an unexpected ending.
